Hello from California

Once again, there’s a lot to catch up on. After about 3 weeks, we got our home (5th wheel) back from Lazy Days in Tampa, FL (this was in early June). I wish I could say it was a good experience, but there was a shocking lack of communication on their end and our home came back to us with more needed repairs than when George dropped it off. Ultimately, the recall which involved the suspension was fixed. That was the most important repair, as it meant we could travel long distances with confidence that it was safe.

Travel we did. George joined the union (IBEW – International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) and we hit the road. We enjoyed a beautiful summer in Lake George, NY. The fresh air, mountains and country roads nourished our souls. We also were within reasonable driving distance to visit family in Maine and connect with others in New England. It was a very special time.

We fell in love with the northeast and were even looking into purchasing a home for use during the cold months. As fall drew near and we further considered our winter options, we decided to head out west to George’s home state – California. Here we will most likely be able to spend the winter comfortably in our 5th wheel. We’re hoping we’ll be able to convince George’s dad to move to the Northeast with us when we’re ready to settle down either full or part time.

There is a lot to share about traveling up and across the country as well as about the RV parks and stops along the way.
